Studies on the Content of Vitamin C and Dehydro-L-Ascorbic Acid in the Vitamin E Deficient Rat

Abstract

|
Studies on the content of ascorbic acid and dehydro-L-ascorbic acid in various organs, show that the deficient groups lowered than control at the level of the ascorbic acid in all the organs. But reversed at the level of the dehydro-L-ascorbic acid (DHA) in all organs, especially in the small intestine and serum level were very significant. Vitamin E deficiency in the rat leads to decreased activities of cytochrome oxidase but not of the succinic dehydrogenase.
